Nepal’s Community Forestry program has changed the trajectory of forest cover in Nepal, but outcomes for biodiversity and livelihoods are inconsistent.
Restoration in this area will improve biodiversity outcomes and equity in community forest management while creating co-benefits for natural disaster risk reduction and livelihoods.
We collaborate directly with Community Forest User Groups (CFUGs) in the Sunkoshi Basin to provide technical support to support reforestation and forest management. Collectively, CFUGs will contribute to landscape-scale improvements in forest quality throughout the Sunkoshi Basin.
